BUCKEYE CUP 2020 UPDATE. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Dear Buckeye Cup 2020 participants,
I hope this finds you all safe and healthy in what has been tough times for everyone. I am messaging to let you know that unfortunately we have made the extremely tough decision to not run this year's Buckeye Cup. We were hopeful we would get to run sometime in June, but that now looks impossible. With the lack of information we have received on when we will be allowed to play actual competitive games again we just feel it's not right to keep everyone hanging on, and best to now look forward to the to the next season. There was a lot of factors we took into consideration when making this tough choice, including the fact that a lot of clubs had already cancelled seasons and would not be attending, the fact that Ohio referees would not be insured to ref any games until at least July as well as 'tryouts' are happening before the tournament would run, leaving teams in potentially awkward situations.
We really do appreciate your patience in all this, and really appreciate the messages of support we have had from multiple clubs.
So with this being said, we have worked hard on a refund/ credit policy that hopefully everyone will understand and appreciate. We will be offering all teams that had already paid a 100% credit (dollar for dollar) to either our Hopewell Cup 2020 tournament this coming fall on September 26 & 27, or our Buckeye Cup 2021 which is tentatively scheduled on May 1 & 2, 2021. You will get full credit for the amount you paid, and only fee you would have is if there is a difference between your credit amount and registration amount for the tournament you choose. We would love to have as many teams come to our upcoming tournaments and use this credit option. This does not have to be the exact same team either. If you are in a club where the club pays the fees, you may use the credit for a different team within your same club.
If you would not like to use the credit option, we will be offering a refund of what you paid, minus a $50 fee to help us cover unrecoverable expenses (website fees, PayPal fees, refund processing time). For example, if you paid $450, you would receive a $400 refund. We can do this via check or PayPal. We will process refunds as quickly as possible but may take some time as our staff, including bookkeeper, have been out on furlough throughout this pandemic.
What I need for each team/ club that has paid their Buckeye Cup fees to do is email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know whether you would like to choose the credit or refund option.
I hope this finally gives some clarity, and I want to again thank you all for your patience. I would love to see you all this fall at our Hopewell Cup tournament. Please let me know if you have any questions on anything at all.
